# Open Water — cinematic descent

Underwater footage: [Serene Underwater View with Swimming Turtle](https://www.pexels.com/video/serene-underwater-view-with-swimming-turtle-37648180/) by [JUN HO LEE](https://www.pexels.com/@divesaipan3076/), used under the [Pexels License](https://www.pexels.com/license/), accessed 27 October 2026.

Edited with Higgsfield Katana: the opening 3.8 seconds are slowed, subtly graded,
and joined with a 0.6-second dissolve into a seven-second silent loop. Desktop
and mobile H.264 exports and the WebP poster derive from that footage. This is
licensed live-action footage, not generated video. Depth readings accompany
the fictional field expedition; they do not measure the filming location.

Native document scrolling and restrained heading reveals use
[Motion](https://github.com/motiondivision/motion), by Motion B.V., under MIT.

The artwork cannot receive pointer input. Paused, reduced-motion, data-saving,
and failed-media states preserve ordinary HTML chapters and links.

The earlier procedural diver, reef and SVG poster retained in this repository
were original Open Water artwork created with Codex assistance. They are no
longer used by the cinematic descent.
